  • August 18th, JMcD: Camped on Namakan Lake (Ref. 11, p 102)
  • Fort was located on Little Vermillion Lake between Loon River and Little Vermillion Narrows. It was on the "war roads of the Sioux" and was established by Rene Bourassa in 1736. (Ref. 4, p 22).
