HISTORY OF ROUTE TRAVELED ON JUNE 13
  • August 20th, JMcD: Started paddling, but a strong head wind caused them to stop about 10 miles east of the Rainy River. This is probably somewhere near the western end of Voyaguers National Park. When voyageurs had to stop because of wind, they called it a 'Degrade'. (Ref. 11, p. 103)
