It rained during the night, but other than wet tents and damp ground, all was well. However, a few noisy neighbors kept some of us from getting a good night's sleep. Several of the crew took advantage of breakfast cooked by the KOA staff...your choice from pancakes, egg sandwiches, cereal, coffe, tea and more |

Tummies full, it was time to head into Great Falls. First stop was Giant Springs State Park where Giant Springs surfaces. The water takes about 50 years to flow underground from its origin in the Little Belt Mountains. The water flows from Giant Springs into the 200-ft. long Roe River, once recoginized as the shortest river in the world, and then flows into the Missouri River. From the spring we walked and geocached along the Missouri River to the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. Some spent a few hours viewing the outstanding exhibits before heading over to the Charles M Russell Museum. Russell was a famous cowboy artist of the old American west. He also was a story teller and author. Others opted to stay at the Interpretive Center for the balance of the afternoon. We all reconnected at the Montana Club for steak dinner and compelling conversation before heading back to camp.   |
