It was up and at 'em today...we were on the water by 7:30. Fortunately, the wind had died down and it was a great paddle straight up White Otter Lake. After our obligatory morning coffee break, we found an island campsite near White Otter Castle about two. Once camp was setup, it was a liesurely afternoon. Some went over to the castle, some explored the island, some fished and some took a nap. It was a great day on the water. This is an interesting You Tube video on Jimmy McQuat and White Otter Castle |

Jim's Journal | The 2nd camp was on an island (a drumlin: glacier cone made of sand and gravel) -- about 4/10 miles due west of White Otter Castle -- provided a large flat area for the tents and the top of the cone provide a good look all around the area What we saw/did: White Otter Castle, completed in 1914 by a guy our age, cut out of the forest |
