YELLOWSTONE RIVER

July 2018

The Red Rogues north canoe team came into being as part of the 2011 David Thompson Columbia Brigade. The team gelled and remained together as a team participating in and hosting brigades and doing numerous team trips. We canoed with them on a Missouri River Headwaters Trip in 2016 and once again joined them for this trip down Montana's Yellowstone River. It was good getting back in the 6-man, 25-ft.-long north canoes again.

There was concern in June that the trip might have to be canceled because the Yellowstone was in flood stage. Fortunately, the level dropped and the trip was a go. It was running fast and there were BIG waves. Thank goodness for great sternsmen. It was GREAT!
