YAH-TAH-HEY-SI-KESS

Welcome to the history of Yah-Tah-Hey-Si-Kess, Order of the Arrow Lodge 66 as seen through the patches issued by the Lodge. Lodge 66 was founded in 1933 as part of the Northern New Mexico Council (which became Kit Carson in 1955, Great Southwest Area in 1976 and Great Southwest in 1981). The Navajo phrase YAH-TAH-HEY-SI-KESS, meaning "hello my friend", was selected as the Lodge name. Little is known of the early patch history with much of the known history starting in the 1950's. The documented patch history known to the authors is compiled here.

The information is presented in two ways. First, those patches cataloged (or anticipated to be cataloged) are listed by patch type, e.g., F, S, R and X series. Second, the patches are listed by purpose, e.g., lodge patches, special events, conclaves, chapter patches, etc.

Patches issued from 1933 to 2002 are included. However, the patch history after 2000 is incomplete. The project is the work of Relf Price, Bill Erickson, Tony Bertram and Carl Cataline.

NOTE: This website is maintained by a group of Scouters interested in the patch history of Lodge 66. Hopefully, it will provide useful information to the patch collecting community. It IS NOT an official website of Order of the Arrow Lodge 66, the Order of the Arrow or the Boy Scouts of America.
